Opening Sequence, Shot-by-Shot Description

SHOT 1: COAST OF COBRA ISLAND - CLOUDY DAY

MUSIC: (instrumental)

Conquests take off from the deck of the USS Flagg as it approaches shore. Pan down to Flint.

FLINT

Yo Joe

SHOT 2

MUSIC: (instrumental)

Lasers fire as the Conquests zoom ahead of the Joe landing craft and over the Terror Drome.

SHOT 3

MUSIC: He'll fight for freedom

Joes run onto the beach from the landing craft. Lady Jaye, Scarlett, Beach Head, and Wet-Suit are the in front, with Roadblock and Gung-Ho not far behind.

SHOT 4

MUSIC: wherever there's trouble. G. /I. Joe is there!

An explosion hits close by as Mainframe, Dusty, Cross-Country exit the craft, followed by an AWE Striker carrying Lifeline, Low-Light, and Bazooka. Behind them are Sci-Fi, Quick Kick, and Sgt. Slaughter in his Triple T.

SHOT 5

MUSIC: G. I. Joe! (A real American hero!)

The Triple T charges toward the distant Terror Drome, just as the Thunder Machine barrels around a Cobra Bunker, with Ripper and Monkeywrench hanging onto the sides. Buzzer and Thrasher are barely visible inside.

SHOT 6

MUSIC: G. I. Joe is there!

As the Triple T and the Thunder Machine pass, Slaughter breaks Monkeywrench's glasses with a hearty punch.

SHOT 7

MUSIC: It's G. I. Joe

Shipwreck (with Polly), Wet-Suit, Beach Head, and Lady Jaye charge over a sandy hill.

SHOT 8

MUSIC: against Cobra the enemy

The Cobra ground forces begin their counterattack: Vipers and Motor Vipers in Stuns firing at the advancing party. Serpentor commands his forces from his Air Chariot.

SHOTS 9-11

MUSIC: fighting to save the day. He never gives up! He's always there,

As the foursome continues their fight, Lady Jaye hurls a javelin at Serpentor. A net launches from the javelin in mid-air, and Serpentor comes crashing to the ground, caught in the net.

SHOT 12

MUSIC: fighting for freedom over land and air!

The Terror Drome launches its Firebat and several Trubble Bubbles: Vipers, along with Dr. Mindbender and Zandar. A passing Conquest throws Zandar from his flight pod.

SHOT 13

MUSIC: G. I. Joe!

As a Night Raven crashes, the HAVOC rolls over the horizon. Inside are Duke and Flint, with Hawk up top. Silver Mirages follow.

SHOT 14

MUSIC: (A real)

Hawk orders his forces forward.

SHOT 15

MUSIC: (American hero!)

The Silver Mirages zoom past: Sci-Fi and Scarlett, Snake-Eyes and Lady Jaye, Bazooka and Barbecue, and Spirit and Gung-Ho.

SHOT 16

MUSIC: G. I. Joe

Leatherneck dodges enemy fire as he runs toward the screen.

SHOT 17

MUSIC: is there!

Reverse angle: Alpine, Leatherneck, and Iceberg spring toward the Terror Drome.

SHOTS 18-19

MUSIC: G. I. Joe is the code name

The three Joes throw their grappling hooks and begin climbing the fortress.

SHOT 20

MUSIC: for America's daring, highly trained

Lasers barely miss Leatherneck, Wet-Suit, Iceberg, and Alpine as they climb up the wall of the Terror Drome.

SHOT 21

MUSIC: special mission force. Its purpose:

Alpine and Iceberg reach the top and begin taking out Cobra Vipers.

SHOT 22

MUSIC: to defend

Destro and the Baroness turn to see the Joe assault team.

SHOT 23

MUSIC: human freedom

Bazooka, Quick Kick, and Roadblock are now on the roof of the Terror Drome.

SHOT 24

MUSIC: against Cobra, a ruthless

Destro sends a BAT after the Joes.

SHOTS 25-27

MUSIC: terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

Bazooka launches a missile into the BAT's chest, disabling it.

SHOT 28

MUSIC: He never gives up! He'll stay 'til the fight's won.

From overhead, we see the Joes racing toward Cobra Commander, who is making a last stand with three Vipers. Tomax and Xamot step in to protect him.

SHOT 29

MUSIC: G. I. Joe will dare.

The Twins put down Leatherneck and Beach Head but are no match for Roadblock.

SHOTS 30-31

MUSIC: G. I. Joe! (A real American hero!)

The snake's head rock crumbles and collapses onto the Terror Drome.

SHOT 32

MUSIC: G. I. Joe!

Joes race away from the explosion: Shipwreck, Low-Light, Lady Jaye, Flint, Sgt. Slaughter, Beach Head, Roadblock, Leatherneck, and Wet-Suit.

SHOT 33

MUSIC: (instrumental)

The Joes stand atop a G. I. Joe logo on black background. Fireworks and an American flag rise behind them. Pictured are Lifeline, Mainframe, Shipwreck, Low-Light, Lady Jaye, Flint, Sgt. Slaughter, Hawk, Beach Head, Roadblock, Leatherneck, Wet-Suit, Cross-Country (atop the HAVOC), Iceberg, Sci-Fi, and Gung-Ho. A flash plays across the Joe logo just before fade out.
